Toboggan Creek Coho Smolt Enumeration 2000
A wolf type weir constructed upstream of the Toboggan Creek hatchery and an inclined plane trap (IPT) installed downstream of the hatchery were used for smolt enumeration in the spring of 2000. The total number of wild coho was estimated using a Petersen mark-recapture estimate. The estimated number of wild coho migrating past the IPT trap in the spring 2000 is considerably higher than the estimated number of wild coho smolts migrating past the wolf type weir location in the spring of 1999.
