Juvenile Coho Studies at the Telkwa River Ponds

The purpose of these studies is to undertake coho smolt enumeration at Km 1010 and 1011 in the Bulkley River, to compare mark-and-recapture population estimates, and to measure the extent and timing of fry and yearlong immigration into the two pond complexes. Water temperature and discharge are recorded, and it is found that fry migration into the ponds tended to increase as flows increased in the Telkwa River in May.
